Costa del Garraf, Spain

Costa del Garraf is a resort area stretching 50 km south of Barcelona. It consists of 6 municipalities:
San Pere de Ribes
Vilanova i la Geltru
Cities built back in the Middle Ages retained their historical features.

The mountain range surrounding the coast forms chamber bays for a relaxing holiday. The Garraf Nature Reserve, which occupies almost the entire area, creates a favorable ecological environment. In addition to architecture and natural beauties, this region of Catalonia is famous for its numerous bright holidays, in which the entire population, from small to large, takes part.


The nearest airport is near Barcelona, ​​from where the Garraf resorts are easily accessible by public transport or taxi.

From airport

There is a stop at T1 terminal, from where buses to resorts regularly leave. Travel time to the final stop is a little more than 60 minutes. Buses go only to large transport hubs and may not call at the resort you need. In this case, you will have to overcome the remaining leg of the journey by taxi (10-15 minutes). The T2 terminal has a railway station.

Take the train to El Prat de Llobregat. Travel time is approximately 7 minutes. Ticket price – within 2 €.
At El Prat de Llobregat station, buy a ticket for a passing train in the direction of Vilanova i la Geltru. If the train does not stop in the city you need, get off at the station nearest to it and then take a taxi. Train timetables and ticket prices can be found here.
A free bus runs between the airport terminals from 5:30 to 24:00 with an interval of 7-10 minutes.


A taxi ride will cost approximately 60-65 €. There are carrier racks at both exit terminals.

From Barcelona
From the Catalan capital it is easy to reach any settlement in Costa del Garraf.


Every day, Monbus buses run from Plaça Universitat to the resorts. Travel will cost about 4 €. Schedule here.

Buses from Plaça d ’Espanya are also available. Direct buses run only to Sitges and Vilanova i la Geltru. If you need another resort, go to the nearest village and take a taxi to your hotel.

A train:

Trains depart from Estacio de França Station. Interval of movement from 15 minutes to 1 hour. Specify the schedule on the official website of the railways of Spain.

The train may not reach the desired station, in this case you will have to get to the nearest town and continue traveling by taxi to the final destination.


The Costa del Garraf is covered in sand. In the area of ​​settlements, free beaches with standard infrastructure are equipped: toilets, changing cabins, sports and playgrounds, cafes, restaurants, rental points for sports equipment, sunbeds and umbrellas.


The natural park covers an area of ​​about 13 hectares. Here are animals and species of flora typical of this region. The landscape is defined by mountain ranges, clefts, ravines, rocks, caves. For lovers of hiking, routes of varying difficulty have been laid. Paths lead to the ruins of the castles of Olivella and Eramprunyà. Also along the way you will meet small villages, Gothic churches and abandoned farms. The main man-made attraction of the reserve is the Sakya Tashi Ling Tibetan monastery, located near the town of Plana Novella.

The easiest way to get here from Sitges is just 10 minutes by car.

Most cultural attractions are concentrated in Sitges. Among them is the Mariselles Palace, to which the Saint Miquel towers and the ancient monastery adjoin.

The Cau Ferrat Museum houses sculptures as well as paintings by artists El Greco, Dali and Picasso. The Romantic Museum tells about the history of Catalonia, the life and traditions of its inhabitants.

In Girona, the castle of Pubol is located. Once there lived Salvador Dali and his muse Gala. In the halls open for visiting, exhibited works of genius.
